[ jyn's own hands are bare, both because she is inside and because the truncheons daisy made her have grips so she doesn't need gloves anymore for that. jyn absolutely HATES feeling other people's emotions but she simply doesn't touch people and people don't touch her because personal space is a thing. ]
That might be the weather, but the UNA sort of wants to throw us all in prison so there's a general avoidance of touching in public.

[ breathing hard, jyn wriggles the fingers of her right hand, fingers tingling from a hard blow catra had gotten against her bad shoulder. she is definitely the most agile person jyn has ever fought and trying to counter that has been more difficult than anticipated.

any calm that jyn briefly felt for having gotten her aggression out in a semi-productive manner fades again and the loss wells up cold in her chest. it didn't produce any results for catra. this is daisy's thing, she knows how to coax powers along. daisy would be better at this, catra would figure it out in five minutes and probably without punching. jyn simply can't live up to her sister. ]

[ jyn lifts her hands in surrender. her suspicions about the water were absolutely correct and she isn't going to torture catra with it; that is why she didn't make use of her power when they were sparring. ]
[ not the una at least. maybe that actually narrows it down enough, she'd seen 90% of the displaced at the sinterklaas party but loads of people had arrived since then and loads had left, but in all honesty jyn is indifferent to many of the displaced. they're not memorable to her and she is not a social creature.

[ jyn slouches toward the kitchen, assuming catra will follow her, and opens the pantry door. she leaves it open for catra to go in and take something to eat while jyn pours herself a glass of water. the pantry is FULL of food. four orphans, two of whom were homeless, living together means a lot of shelf stable food because, at least for jyn, there is always this lingering feeling that the stability is going to slip through her fingers so she stocks up now while she has the chance.
jars and jars and jars of fruits and veggies, jams and jellies and mango chutney, boxes of pasta and noodles and cereals, bags of rice and beans, tins of fish and milk and spaghetti, a large crate of brown bread in cans. everything in recyclable packaging, of course, and there is a whole bowl of satsumas on the kitchen island where jyn perches. ]
We stole it. It was during a weird, communal dream... thing. Daisy had the idea to take it so I carved our names into the door. When we woke up our names were on the lease.

[ she subsisted on protein milk for her adolescent years and protein cubes in prison so jyn will pretty much eat anything that isn't milk or cubed. or bunn. she may have had enough bunn for a lifetime. ]

They're... salty. But not bad salty? I don't know.
All we had in the Fright Zone was ration bars. You could choose the grey kind or the brown kind. So it's a step up, at least. If I never have to eat another ration bar again, it'll be too soon, haha.
