[he smiles like he wants to laugh, and the look is stuck on her face when he catches her gaze, before he too is caught up in how close they are.]

[then the cat bops him on the nose and it startles him enough that he scrunches up his face.]
[ jyn draws the cat's paw back immediately, curling her fingers around both tiny feet so she can't paw at cassian again, but it breaks the moment enough to draw a rare, bright smile. ]
She'll sway you, [ jyn intones sagely, as if she knows how the future is going to unfold. cassian has a soft spot for lonely, feral beasts, eventually he will give in to that softness and crumple like wet tissue. the same could be said about her, but she's not the one at an impasse with an animal.
stuck by the sweetness of cassian playing with the tiny creature, bopping its nose, she quickly stretches up on her tiptoes to bop him on the nose. with her lips. a swift, impossibly fast peck on the nose before she falls off tiptoe and quickly sweeps away to throw herself on the couch.
[he wants to argue. but deep down he has a feeling jyn is correct. he already let the cat follow him inside.]
[the argument is completely tabled when she leans up and kisses him on the nose, a mimicry of his teasing the cat. he blinks with surprise, still silenced by it even as she makes her way to flop over on the couch.]
[he can't tell if it's running away or just jyn being jyn, but it's the second time she's kissed him in a very short window, with very clear intent. it feels... nice, if not kind of confusing, but he's not very used to affection so he assumes that's probably normal.]
No she won't. [it sounds very distracted. the pot bubbles behind him and breaks him out of his stupor, scrambling back to stir it before it overflows.]
