[ he's right about the cat's coloring and jyn breathes out a brief smile. she's not the same color as admiral raddus, but since even the thought of the mon cala brings to mind the grey admiral she decides that is her decision made. ]
Raddus. [ after the one councilperson to be on their side without question. she looks down at the cat who is watching cassian at the stove with her keen eyes and nods. ] Her name should be Raddus.
[he finds himself fighting his own smile, maybe kind of glad the cat followed him home?]
I like it. [raddus the cat, he feels like the admiral would be amused, so cassian approves. the colors don't match up, but the name is still oddly suited.] I am going to feel guilty if she ever begs for fish.
There are a very strange amount of humans here. For a Portal that can pull in people from multiple universes, it seems to favor them. I might think it Imperial.
[ jyn looks down at the cat. ] He's too strong for us, Raddus. [ she looks back at cassian but whatever she was going to say gets lost as she's momentarily distracted by how close they are, how easy this all is, how absolutely dumbfounding all this ease is. her mouth opens a little in surprise. ]
[he smiles like he wants to laugh, and the look is stuck on her face when he catches her gaze, before he too is caught up in how close they are.]
[close enough that her breath fans over his face, and his smile gives way to some of his own surprise. the strangest thing about being so near to her is how easy it feels. safe. like he doesn't want to back away.]
[then the cat bops him on the nose and it startles him enough that he scrunches up his face.]
[ jyn draws the cat's paw back immediately, curling her fingers around both tiny feet so she can't paw at cassian again, but it breaks the moment enough to draw a rare, bright smile. ]
She'll sway you, [ jyn intones sagely, as if she knows how the future is going to unfold. cassian has a soft spot for lonely, feral beasts, eventually he will give in to that softness and crumple like wet tissue. the same could be said about her, but she's not the one at an impasse with an animal.
stuck by the sweetness of cassian playing with the tiny creature, bopping its nose, she quickly stretches up on her tiptoes to bop him on the nose. with her lips. a swift, impossibly fast peck on the nose before she falls off tiptoe and quickly sweeps away to throw herself on the couch.
[he wants to argue. but deep down he has a feeling jyn is correct. he already let the cat follow him inside.]
[the argument is completely tabled when she leans up and kisses him on the nose, a mimicry of his teasing the cat. he blinks with surprise, still silenced by it even as she makes her way to flop over on the couch.]
[he can't tell if it's running away or just jyn being jyn, but it's the second time she's kissed him in a very short window, with very clear intent. it feels... nice, if not kind of confusing, but he's not very used to affection so he assumes that's probably normal.]
No she won't. [it sounds very distracted. the pot bubbles behind him and breaks him out of his stupor, scrambling back to stir it before it overflows.]

[jyn you can't just call it a stray, that means cassian is extra doomed. he should have known when he'd let the cat come inside in the first place.]
Her colors remind me of a Mon Calamari. [which he finds hilarious because feline versus fish.]

Don't they eat fish?
no subject
Different kinds of fish. Felines don't exist on Mon Calamari.

[ nothing about this conversation seems to faze her like if they eat cats that's just the way it is, the circle of life, hakuna matata, whateves. ]

Good thing none of them are here for us to worry about that.

Is Raddus staying, Captain?
no subject
[he sighs, but at least it sounds fond.] We did name her. And apparently she likes it here.
[it's only been like an hour.]

Welcome home.

[this is a home, he supposes. their home.]
She's still not getting any of this food.

Look at her face.

I can see it, yes. [the kitten swats her paw out towards his face, but he doesn't even blink.] It does not change my answer.

Looks like she refuses to give in, Captain.

Then we are at an impasse.
