[ okay, cassian is insane because jyn isn't willing to talk about anything but she takes a second to question his logic and realizes that he doesn't really mean that she's be willing to talk about it but that she won't lie.

it still takes her a moment to answer, struggling with how to explain a rebellion with no context. ]

Our home is in the middle of a Civil War that's been going on since we were children. The resistance was resisting. It wasn't just one force, there were different factions. Cassian was a member of the Alliance.

[ which, as an explanation, only offers more questions. ]

[Though Yuuri doesn't know her exact age, Jyn obviously is a young woman at this point, and he realizes with some horror what that means with her last text providing some context.]

It's been going on for that long? What started it?

[A pause, before he sends another message.]

Sorry, I'm asking pretty intrusive questions. You don't have to answer them if you don't want to.

The Jedis fell after the Clone Wars and Palpatine put himself into power as Emperor.

[ men love power. ]

The resistance was small at first because no one realized that democracy was crumbling around them until it was too late.

[The more unfamiliar terms he's seeing, the more questions he has.]

You said there were different factions. How's the Alliance different from the resistance?

[realists]

It's not, it's the largest part of it. The Alliance has got chancellors and a counsel and a military fleet. But there were other, smaller groups of rebels as well, and the Separatists before them.

I'm an athlete, I'm more concerned about proper muscle to fat ratios than if someone is built to be thick or thin, and even then, only with those I'm coaching!

[ yeah, that's good, she'll just distract victor with cassian because his injuries are physical and can be fussed over and jyn is avoiding him for a bit so someone else needs to fuss over him. give kay a break. ]

Um, Jyn? [Definitely sounding a little hesitant over here, if only because he doesn't actually have a reason to call, except to check in.]

I haven't seen you and Captain Andor in a while. Are you doing okay?

[ it takes her a bit to reply because jyn hates talking, surprise!, but eventually, and sounding rather put upon: ]

Cassian has a concussion. [ emphasis on cassian like it's a correction :) ] I'm fine.

[ she says fine like it's a weapon, a dare to contradict her. ]

He does? [Her deflection works, for a second, and he's distracted by his concern.]

I was planning to check in on him after this... was he in one of the evacuation teams?

No, Kay took part in the evacuations, Cassian couldn't. [ she feels compelled (by guilt) to rationalize why she didn't even think about joining the evacuation teams. yuuri is such a good person, she feels exponentially more terrible just existing near him. ] I've already seen planets destroyed, I couldn't see another one.

[yokunaru]

[Softly, remembering what she's told him about the war back home--] I don't think anyone would blame you for that, Jyn.

[Then he pauses, realizing that he doesn't recognize one of those names.] Is Kay another friend from your galaxy?

[realists]

[ jyn's voice softens despite herself. ] Kay is Cassian's best friend. Have you seen an irritatingly tall black droid stomping around? That's Kay.

Viktor mentioned one was part of the evacuation team he joined, but I'm not sure if that was your friend or not.

What's he like? I haven't met a droid before.
